Associate Attorney – Estate Planning

The Role
We’re seeking an experienced, client-focused Associate Attorney to join our growing estate planning team. You’ll manage your own caseload, deliver clear and strategic legal advice, and play a leadership role in mentoring our legal staff. This is an in-office position offering opportunities for collaboration, growth, and making a lasting impact in our clients’ lives.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage a full caseload independently with minimal supervision.
- Conduct client consultations and provide clear, strategic legal advice.
- Review and finalize documents including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Prepare and file probate and estate administration documents; appear in court as needed.
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing parties to move cases forward.
- Supervise and mentor paralegals and legal assistants.
- Track billable and non-billable time in case management software.
- Contribute to process improvements and firm development initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
- JD from an accredited law school and active Massachusetts Bar license.
- 5+ years of experience in estate planning, estate administration, and elder law.
- Strong knowledge of trust-based planning and probate processing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex legal concepts and build client trust.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working in our Northborough and/or Natick offices.

Key Performance Goals:
- Bill a minimum of 30 hours per week average (1,500 annually, 375 quarterly, 125 monthly).
- Complete 95% of assigned tasks by the established due date.
- Accurately track 100% of billable and non-billable time contemporaneously and entered or written the same day.
- Fill 90% of probates within 3 weeks of engagement and close 85% of cases within 30 days of one year from date of death subject to development of probate process.
Compensation & Details:
- $100,000 – $200,000, commensurate with experience including bonus potential tied to KPIs and efficiency.
- Full-time, in-office position.
